Group Profile
The Midrange Users Group of Western New York is a non-profit organization
comprised of professionals working in the **Midrange Systems environment. The group was
organized in 1984 representing Western New York, & is based in, but not limited to, the Buffalo area and now represents
managers, analysts and programmers working together in the Information Systems field on
midrange-class computers. We sponsor a monthly dinner meeting on the fourth Thursday
of each month in September, October, December, February, March, April, May &
occasionally in June. Meetings
will begin at 5:30 PM for registration & check-in, followed by dinner & a brief business
meeting, usually winding up the night by 8:00 PM.
Members are always welcome to contribute to the newsletter or any other committee of their
choice. The Board of Directors are elected during the May meeting and they begin
their term in September.

Our Objective
Our objective is to promote and expand the education and knowledge of our members and
to encourage free exchange of midrange computer systems technical information and problem
solving techniques.
**General Definition:
In general, midrange refers to computers that are
more powerful and capable than personal computers but less powerful and capable
than mainframe computers.
